Volunteer Opportunities
How to volunteer
Regional Hospice volunteers perform many tasks for our Hospice and Palliative Care patients and their families. One of the most important things a volunteer can offer our patients is time: time to sit with them, listen to their stories and share their lives. Time to offer caregivers a break from the challenging task of caring for a loved one with a life limiting illness. If you have time to share, please consider becoming a Regional Hospice volunteer.
Veteran Volunteers can make a special connection with our Veteran patients and their families. Regional Hospice Veteran volunteers help engage, honor and recognize our Veteran patients.
Regional Hospice volunteers are also needed to support the services we offer in other capacities. Volunteers are invaluable when we organize special events, attend health fairs, and plan fundraisers. Volunteers may also assist with office work or offer their professional skills to support our organization in other ways.
Regional Hospice provides all volunteers with a thorough training program that provides them the education they need to feel confident to help our patients and families. Each site offers a volunteer training class at least once a year. Training provides information about the Regional Hospice approach to care as well as skill building and tips from experienced volunteers. Each site has a Volunteer Coordinator who is available for support, encouragement, and guidance.
